Abram H. Rissler

Abram H. Rissler, 87, of Barnett, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at his home. He was born December 28, 1933, in Lancaster County, Pa., a son of David and Lizzie (Hurst) Rissler. On November 17, 1955, Abram was united in marriage to Nora (Horst) Martin, who preceded him in death on January 17, 2018. He was a member of Hopewell Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference) near Barnett. Abram is survived by four sons, Ruben M. Rissler (Eva Mae), Aaron M. Rissler, (Eleanor), Alvin M. Rissler (Mabel), and Marvin M. Rissler, all of Barnett; six daughters, Ella Rissler (Christian) of Dorchester, Wis., Alta M. Rissler, Vera Kilmer (Norman), Anna Mae Martin (Lester) all of Barnett, Norma Leinbach (Jonas), and Miriam Zimmerman (Peter), both of Versailles; four sisters, Lizzie Martin of Clare, Mich., Anna Burkholder of East Earl, Pa., Mabel Good (Howard) of Dayton, Va., Mary Nolt (Paul) of East Earl, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Rissler, of Haynesville, La.; a brother-in-law, Rufus Hoover of Clare, Mich.; 60 grandchildren; 115 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Harvey Rissler; two daughters, Edna and Etta Rissler; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three brothers, Paul, Amos, and Ivan Rissler; three sisters, Esther Zimmerman, Edna Wenger, and Katie Hoover. Visitation will be held Monday, April 19, 2021, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the family home. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Hopewell Mennonite Church, with Harry Leinbach, Leonard Martin, Nelson Weaver, and Matthew Hoover officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Windmill Ridge Funeral Service in California, Mo.
