Gavin Layne Sharp, age 14, of Dixon, departed this life Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the family residence near Dixon. He was born February 1, 2007, at Rolla, the son of Jeremy Andrew and Shaynoah Lin (Rosario) Sharp. Gavin was a member of the eighth grade class of Maries R-1 Middle School, Vienna, and had just achieved first chair trombone in the junior high school band. He and his sister attended First Baptist Church, Vienna, and participated in the Kids Club and other programs of the church. Gavin especially enjoyed going to the farm with his Dad, fishing as often as he could, going camping with his grandma, and playing games of all kinds including cards, video, and board games. Gavin really appreciated his family and friends and dearly loved all of them. Those left to mourn the passing of Gavin include: His father, Jeremy and Ashley; his mother, Shaynoah and Cecil; sisters, Josalin Rae Sharp and Alexandria Jane Hoskins; paternal grandparents, James "Jim" and Jo Sharp, and Sherry Lou and Gary Honse; paternal great-grandparents, Everett and Dorothy Sharp; maternal grandparents, Mike Rosario and Angelia York; maternal great-grandparents, Miguel and Lucille Rosario and Carmeletta York; uncles, aunts, cousins, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Frankie Ray and Sharlene (Messer) Elliott, and Gerald and Mattie Honse; maternal great-grandfather, Robert York Sr.; and maternal great aunt, Hope Rosario. Visitation for Gavin will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in the First Baptist Church, 1004 Highway 63 South, Vienna, with his funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. in the church, with Bro. Ryan Hogshooter, Grace Community Church, Dixon, officiating, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Please dress casually and wear anything Marvel, comics, Harry Potter, etc., whatever you feel the most comfortable in. Interment will be near his paternal great-grandparents in Little Flock Cemetery near Vienna. A lantern release will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Maries R-1 school property, Vienna. The family requests a video be taken of your groups release and tag Shaynoah, Cecil, Ashley, Jeremy or any family member. Memorials in memory of Gavin Sharp are to the Education Fund for his sister, Josalin, with envelopes available at the church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O.
