Linda Fay Walsch, 79, of Freeburg, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. She was born on June 11, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, a daughter of the late Dorris Ray and Frances Catherine (Kuehn) Cross. Linda was a sharecropper's daughter and grew up working in orchards and picking cotton. She worked in a coffee factory in St. Louis and later worked for over 25 years at Westinghouse/ABB. Linda cherished the years she stayed at home raising her children. She had a passion for reading and crocheting. Linda enjoyed cooking big meals for her family and always put them first. She is survived by her children: Kenneth Walsch (Brenda) of Crestwood, Christopher Walsch (Lori) of LaMarque, Texas, Sandy Mengwasser (Dan) of Freeburg, Steven Walsch (Lisa) of Freedom and Dianna Neier (Dennis) of Rich Fountain; sister: Rosalie Friend of Leasburg; brother: David Cross (Kathy) of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Jennetta Brandt, and brother: John Cross. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rich Fountain at a later date.
