Ruby Irene (Crawford) Procter, 92, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the California Care Center in California, Mo. Ruby was born on April 2, 1928 in California, Mo. and was the eldest daughter of the late Jacob and Mildred (Kaiser) Crawford. Ruby attended Centertown High School and married Walter L. Procter in 1948. Ruby and Walter adopted a one-month old boy in July 1960 and named the son, Alan Lloyd. Ruby lived briefly in Little Rock, Ark. but she lived most of her life in Centertown. She was a woman of faith and attended the Centertown Baptist Church, serving on various committees and assisting with Bible School. Mrs. Procter worked for 42 years for the State of Missouri retiring with the Dept. of Revenue in 1990. Ruby enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, and taking care of her grandson. Mrs. Procter was a wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and a friend to many. Ruby is survived by grandson, Jacob Procter, daughter-in-law, Sharon Procter, both of Centertown; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Alan Procter on January 14, 2004; one brother, Golder Crawford; and one sister, Maude Worstell. Visitation will be held at the Centertown Baptist Church on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 10-11:00 a.m. with the funeral service directly following at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. John Gorham. Burial will be at the Centertown Cemetery. The funeral home ask that everyone please practice social distancing per CDC Covid-19 guidelines. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Centertown Cemetery Assoc. or Centertown Baptist Church, c/o the funeral home.
