Katherine "Kathy" Marie (Keeney) Murdick, 67, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020. She was born on July 1, 1953 in Van Buren, Missouri to the late Ira "Bronc" and Mary (Sherratt) Keeney. She was united in marriage on September 23, 1972 in Canton, Illinois, to Scott Alan Murdick, who survives at their home. Kathy was a 1971 graduate of Van Buren High School and later employed as a home health worker and daycare worker before opening her own in-home daycare in 1996. She will be remembered as a wonderful babysitter to several children whom she treated as if they were her own grandchildren. She also loved her own grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them and supporting them in every way. She is survived by two sons, Christopher Murdick of Garland, Texas and Colin (Jessica) Murdick of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Cade and Colton Murdick of Garland, Texas and Caitlyn and Ashlyn Murdick of Jefferson City; eight siblings, Kenneth (Donna) Keeney, Sharon Keeney, Gary (Janice) Keeney, Jeff (Ella Jean) Keeney, Charles "Bo" (Janet) Keeney, Linda (Jim) Baker, Beverly Camp, David "Doc" (Cindy) Keeney; three sisters-in law, Sandra Mattli, Susan Fleming and Robin (Tim) Wood; two brothers-in-law, Lynn (Ronda) Murdick and Bruce Murdick; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will greatly mourn her passing. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cynthia Hayworth and Carolyn Daniels; father-in law and mother-in law, Frank and Audrey Murdick; sister-in-law, Sherri Wasielewski; and three brother-in-laws, Bruce Wasielewski, Gerald Fleming and Donnie Daniels. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Van Buren, Missouri with the funeral services immediately following the visitation.
