Joseph Anton Kolb

Joseph Anton Kolb, 91, of Wardsville, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Adams Street Place. He was born on May 22, 1929 in Wardsville, Missouri, a son of Joseph John and Lucy K. (Thessen) Kolb. He was united in marriage on September 2, 1950 at Jefferson City, Missouri to Mary Jane Upschulte, who preceded him in death on July 1, 2019. Joe attended St. Peter's Catholic School in Jefferson City. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from December 1951 to December 1953. He retired as an American Family Mutual Insurance Agent for over 35 years. He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus #8399, Charter member of the Wardsville Lions Club, Past Chairman of Wardsville City Council, and member of the Eagles and American Legion. He is survived by his children: Diane Kolb (Ray) of Jefferson City, Dr. Lisa Kolb Waggoner (Hugh) of Jefferson City and Richard Kolb (Jackie) of Wardsville; grandchildren: Zachary Kolb and Henry Waggoner; great-granddaughter: Billie Lee Kolb; and two brothers: Norbert E. Kolb (Shirley) of Jefferson City and Stanley L. Kolb (Mary) of Jefferson City. Joe was also preceded in death by his parents; a son: Dennis J. Kolb; one granddaughter: Ciera A. Kolb; one brother: Louis B. Kolb; and two sisters: Lucille E. Rackers and Agnes A. Volmert. Private family graveside services will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Stanislaus Mausoleum Fund.
