Alan Wayne Heidbreder

Alan Wayne Heidbreder, age 73, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Mo. Alan was born near Russellville, Mo., the son of Guilford Heidbreder and Edna (Rockelman) Heidbreder, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1964. After high school, Alan went to Lincoln University and graduated in 1969. On June 14, 1969, Alan was united in marriage to Rosalyn Duvall who survives of the home. He served in the US Army from September 1969 to August 1971. He was an accountant at MFA Inc, Columbia Office Supply, Woodhaven, and OATS. Alan was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Columbia and served as the church treasurer for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 202 in Columbia and was a member and officer with the Sons of the Union Veterans. Alan volunteered and took his flight with the Central Missouri Honor Flight. He was an active member of Central Missouri Wood Carvers and volunteered at the Columbia Senior Activity Center. He loved to travel and collect Native American artifacts. His family fondly remembers his love of antiquing. Along with his wife, Alan is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special Godchild. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Carl Heidbreder. Per the CDC recommendations, social distancing recommendations will be observed. The visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service, with the service following at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Earl Fuller officiating. Interment will be at the Sappington Community Chapel Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials are suggested to Central Missouri Honor Flight and the Columbia Senior Activity Center.
