Katherine Lee (Griffin) Gooch

Katherine Lee (Griffin) Gooch, 57, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by loving and caring neighbors. She was born December 12, 1962 in Columbia, Missouri, a daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Bricker) Griffin. Better known as Katie, she graduated Lincoln University with an RN degree, working as a Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing, as well as Home Health Care and Hospice. Katie was known for making friends into family, always cracking jokes and caring for others before herself. In addition to the incredible care she provided for others, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making people laugh and being known as Mama Gooch, a second mom to her daughters friends. Katie's kindness and love will forever bless those that had the opportunity to have her in their lives. Katie is survived by her two daughters: Heather Gooch of Holts Summit, Mo. and Haley Gooch of Lee's Summit, Mo.; two brothers: Eric Griffin (Donna) of Austin, Texas and Mark Griffin (Carol) of Ocala, Fla.; and one sister: Lenzy Griffin-Bond (Tom) of Ellijay, Ga. A celebration of Katie's life will be conducted at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to her daughters, Heather and Haley. Arrangements are under the direction of TYLER M.
