Juanita Jewel Ramsdell Godsy

Juanita Jewel Ramsdell Godsy, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born on May 22, 1931 in Jefferson City, a daughter of Frank and Lenora McCrea, both deceased. She was a graduate of Centertown High School. Juanita worked for the Missouri Department of Mental Health for over 32 years as an accountant and procurement officer until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Association of Retired Missouri State Employees, and a life member of American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and Heisinger Lutheran Home Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and taught many people to knit throughout her life. She was blessed to have been united in marriage to three gentlemen, with each being called home to the Lord prior to Juanita: Cleo A. Scheperle on September 10, 1949, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1977; Richard G. James on August 18, 1979, who preceded her in death on July 15, 1996; and Wesley M. Godsy on September 20, 1997, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2004. She also had a special friend, Sylvester Redel, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2014. Survivors include one son, Dennis K. Scheperle; two step-children, Kay Baysinger, Martin Godsy and wife Geana; seven grandchildren: Dee A. (Scheperle) Luebbering and husband Jay, Cleo J. Scheperle and companion Nichole, Brandon Howard, Jared Collier, William Musgrove, Alicia Rodick and husband Matt, Shaina McDaniel and husband Shane; and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joicelyn Melkersman; three sisters: Walda M. Clarke, Bonnie M. Wilbers, Mary A. Campbell; a daughter-in-law, Brenda K. Scheperle; and a great- grandchild, Bradey J. Luebbering. Private family visitation and services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
