Delphine Ann Yancey, 97, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Summit Villa in Holts Summit. She was born on June 1, 1922, in Folk, Missouri, a daughter of the late Samuel and Aureila (Cassmeyer) Bexten. She was united in marriage on March 9, 1942, to Charles F. Yancey Jr. in Portland, Oregon. Delphine was a graduate of Fatima High School. She worked for St. Joseph Cathedral School in the cafeteria for over 10 years. Delphine was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph for over 35 years. She spent many hours volunteering and preparing the church for priests ordinations, funerals and the Annual Christmas Bazaar. Delphine was first a loving and caring wife and mother who took care of her family. She enjoyed sewing and cooking but most of all cherished family gatherings. She is survived by her daughters: Judy Kilburn (Joe) of Leavenworth, Kansas, Sandra Bexten (Larry) of Jefferson City and Donna Breuer (Rod) of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter-in-law: Lori Yancey of O'Fallon; grandchildren: Kelly Peeples, kmjKarrie Kilburn, Kim Barnes (Steve), Tricha Gaines (Sam), Shawn Bexten (Christie), Laurie Herzing (Kent), Rachel Lehmen (Curt), Eric Breuer (Anita) and Jessica Breuer; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and much loved nieces and nephews. Delphine was preceded in death by her husband: Charles F. Yancey Jr., son: Samuel Lee Yancey and siblings: Virginia Doerhoff, Jerome Bexten and David Bexten. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice Compassus of Jefferson City.
