Martha May Atteberry

Martha May Atteberry,78, of Barnett, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at The Arbors. She was born on July 17, 1941 in Barnett, a daughter of the late Leo and Geraldine (Cornett) Branstetter. She was united in marriage to John Atteberry on January 6, 1968, in St. Louis. She learned to play the piano as a young girl and throughout her life she would sit and play her beloved hymns. She was a faithful employee of FASCO for over 30 years until her retirement. Martha was known for her honesty and her kindness towards others. She devoted her life to her boys and her family and was blessed with a loving and generous spirit that was evident in all of her relationships. Her kitchen was the heart of the family and you could find her there taking requests for fried chicken, tacos or salmon patties. She treasured her grandchildren and was known to spoil them. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her sons: Jerome Atteberry (Terry) and Jerrod Atteberry (Ashley); her siblings: LeRoy Branstetter (Lavern), Mary Whitten (John Brockmeier), Malcolm Branstetter (Fran) and Becky Daulton (Larry); grandchildren: Kylie Webery (Chris), Payton Atteberry, Tanner Atteberry, Grayson and Graeme Atteberry; and great-grandson: Grady Webery. Martha was preceded in death by her brothers: Pete and Donnie Branstetter; and sister: Margaret (Branstetter) Forester. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 at Millard-Rekus Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 at Millard-Rekus Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Big Rock Cemetery located in Barnett.
