Jerry Thoenen, 65, of Frankenstein, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born on April 17, 1954, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Edward "Ed" and Betty "Bets" (Schaefer) Thoenen. Jerry attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Frankenstein and was a 1972 graduate of Fatima High School. He was united in marriage to Betty (Sigaigo) Thoenen on August 9, 2003, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Betty survives at their residence. Jerry was employed for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 28 years retiring in 2005 as the Shed Foreman. He was employed part time at Osage Industries for the last 12 years. Jerry was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping at Warsaw lake with his camping family, working on his John Deere tractor, hanging at the shop and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his spouse of 16 years, Jerry is survived by four sons, Christopher "Bear" (Christa) Thoenen of Frankenstein, Craig "Scrubby" (Alisha) Thoenen of Linn, Kim Winder of Taos and Kevin (Denise) Winder of Jefferson City; a daughter, Cassie Seals and her fiancé Kirby Strope of Linn; 12 grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Seals, Zachary Thoenen, Kelsey, Addy and Avery Winder, Kali and Emilyn Thoenen, Braden, Jacie and Landon Thoenen and Quinn Winder; one great-granddaughter, Ziriah Thoenen; five brothers, Jim (Merilee) Thoenen of Linn, John (Sarah) Thoenen of Linn, Joe (Donna) Thoenen of Linn, Jeff (Peggy) Thoenen of Willard and Ed (Stacy) Thoenen of Linn; four sisters, Peggy (John) Hemeyer of Frankford, Ruth (Dennis) Block of Bonnots Mill, Rose Thoenen of Bonnots Mill and Jean Hall of Jefferson City, three sisters-in-law, Rosemary Blanner of St. Louis, Janet (Randy) Weathery of Jefferson City and Patti (Bill) Brendel of Greenville; along with many nieces, nephews and friends who were very special to him. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Chad Thoenen. Private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life and Interment will be held at a later date.
