Martha Catherine Krone

Martha Catherine Krone, 94, of Westphalia, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Westphalia Hills Senior Living. She was born March 1, 1925, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late William L. and Elizabeth (Meyerpeters) Scheppers. On April 30, 1949, she married James Krone who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Westphalia High School. After attending Rubicam Business College in St Louis, she worked at Laclede Gas Light Company in St Louis for the next six years. Martha then worked for the Missouri State Auditor's Office for eight years, the Department of Revenue for 12 years, was City Clerk for Westphalia for 14 years and served as the trustee for the Thomas Jefferson Library and Osage County Library system for 10 years. Martha was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, St Ann's Sewing Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, The Town and Country Social Club, Senior Citizens Club and Westphalia Historical Society. She served as a committee member for the St Joseph Church and St Joseph School. Martha enjoyed being with family, reading, home decorating, embroidery and puzzles. Survivors include one son, John (Marsha) Krone, Peoria, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Dianne Krone; five grandchildren, Emily (Mike) Banas, Bradley (Ashley) Krone, Allison Krone, Jason Krone, Aaron Krone; two great-grandchildren, Rowan Banas, Finn Banas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and one son, Paul Krone. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia (due to the church remodeling and the St. Joseph School gym being unavailable) with the Rev. Anthony Viviano officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church or School.
