Rosemary Able

Mrs. Rosemary Able, 85, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Oak Tree Villas. Rosemary was born on October 18, 1934 in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of Marion and Eunice (Sitton) Fisher. She attended Southwest High School and after graduation was employed at Commerce Bank, where she met the love of her life, Albert Able. They married on December 27, 1954, and celebrated 63 years of marriage until Al's passing on January 29, 2018. Rosemary enjoyed raising her children and traveling with Albert on many trips. She also enjoyed bowling and tennis. She was an active member of First Christian Church, and was also dedicated to her volunteer work with the Capital Region Medical Center Auxiliary, the Goldschmidt Cancer Center, the Special Learning Center, and the Amtrak Visitors Center. Survivors include: three children, Matthew J.A. Able (Barbara) of Leawood, Kan., Michelle L. Martin (Terry) of Jefferson City, Mo., and Mark G.A. Able (Anita) of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Christopher Able (Kelsey), Allison Able, Sarah Jane Kuipers, Travis Able (Ally), Patrick Martin (Amber), Jennifer Snyder (Dillon), Daniel Able, and Kevin Able (Austin Speaker); eight great-grandchildren, Samuel Martin, Silas Martin, Charlie Martin, Remy Martin, Liam Snyder, Brock Able, Graham Able, and Troy Kuipers. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Al; siblings, Marion Raymond Fisher, Jim Fisher, and Jeanne Randall; sister-in-law, Irene Conwell; and niece, Sharon Burchfield. The family would like to thank the staff at Capital Region Medical Center and Oak Tree Villas for all the love and support they showed to Rosemary. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Beau Underwood officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, the United Way of Central Missouri, or the Capital Region Medical Foundation.
