Josephine (Schulte) Schwaller, 91, of Mary's Home, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born December 21, 1928, in Mary's Home, Missouri, the daughter of the late Lambert and Elizabeth (Doerhoff) Schulte. On October 4, 1952, in Mary's Home, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bernard James Schwaller Sr. who preceded her in death on November 6, 2007. Josephine was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mary's Home, Mo. and the Ladies Altar Sodality. She was 4H leader and Cub Scout leader. She was avid in the community and the quilting club. She loved to cook and often subbed as a cook and teacher for Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School. She enjoyed writing the Mary's Home news for the Eldon Advertiser. Josephine loved children and over the years sponsored many charity funds for children all over the world. Survivors include: daughters, Cathy and John Hanson of Plattsburg, Mo., Rosie and Kevin Beck of Mary's Home, Mo.; sons, Bernard Schwaller Jr. and Becky of Mary's Home, Mo.; Sam and Carolyn Schwaller of Mary's Home, Mo, Mike Schwaller of Mary's Home, Mo., David Schwaller of Mary's Home, Mo., Gerald and Judy Schwaller of Eldon; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Schulte and Anna Schulte. A son, Patrick Schwaller; a daughter, Paula Schwaller; one grandson, Jacob Schwaller; two daughters-in-law, Terri Schwaller and Julie Bax; and 15 siblings, Alma Rehagen, Roman Schulte, Emil Schulte, Aemilda Dunn, Lorraine Bosch, Agnes Arens, Fredonia Arens, Eleanor Hitz, Norbert Schulte, Andrew Schulte, Robert Schulte, Dolores Schulte, Bernard Schulte, L.W. Schulte and Justin Schulte preceded her in death. Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2020, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 24, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with Rev. James Finder officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Memorials in her name are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
