Wesley B. Mormann

Wesley B. Mormann, 98, of Eugene, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at SSM St. Mary's Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born January 26, 1922, in Mary's Home, Missouri, the son of the late Conrad and Katherine (Loethen) Mormann. On June 21, 1947, in Mary's Home, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Geneva (Bax) Mormann who survives of the home. Wesley was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II from 1942-1945. His military service travels took him through Rio de Janeiro, South America, Africa, India and Iran. While in the Army, he was a supply truck driver distributing supplies through Russia, Turkey, Palestine, Jerusalem, Bagdad, Basara, Iraq and Israel. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mary's Home, Mo. He loved farming and raising his cattle until his health would no longer allow him. He and his wife Geneva moved to the Senior Villa in 2013, and his passion there was watching the St. Louis Cardinals and sharing information about any and every player. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who shared his knowledge with his grandchildren. Wesley lived a very full life, had a very loving wife and family and was ready to go to his eternal rest. Other survivors include: daughters, Carol Evers (Sylvester) of Eugene, Mo., Linda Bungart of Eugene, Mo., Nancy Lepper of Eugene, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathryn Kempker of Eugene, Mo. and brother-in-law, Elmer Bax of Jefferson City, Mo. One grandson, two sons-in-law, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death. Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Finder officiating. Burial with full military honors presented will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Memorials in his name are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
