Louise Irey, 95, of California, Mo., passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020. Mary Louise Irey was born February 15, 1925, the daughter of Orla Martin and Dolan Cleo Baker Bollinger, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on June 14, 1947 to James Allee Irey, who preceded her in death August 1, 2000. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Mo. for three years. She worked at Sears Roebuck filling orders until June 17, 1950. We moved to the farm where she lived till her death. Together with her husband, she raised feeder pigs and ranged turkeys. Then in May, 1977 went to work at California Mfg. till 1991. She had to retire to take care of James, as he had strokes and couldn't stay alone. She enjoyed making quilts, hot dish carriers and plastic bag holders. Her joy was writing weekly letters. She was a member of Pilot Grove Baptist Church, southwest of California. Survivors include: her daughters, Joyce Ann Zimmerman and Cheryl Denice Irey; daughter-in-law, Brenda Kay Irey; four granddaughters, Cindy Lou Wieberg (Arnie), Dee Marie Irey (Rhonda), Ashley Dawn Irey, Jessica Lynn Prettyman (Jeffrey); five great-grandchildren, Roxanne, Harley Marie, Lynndon, Braden, Allie; two great-great-grandsons, Karson and Zander; one sister, Maxine Martin; two brothers, J.A. Bollinger and Kenneth Bollinger; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wayne Zimmerman, March 22, 2004; son, Alan Reed Irey, February 18, 2015; and brother, Leo Bollinger, February 13, 2018. Visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2020 from 3-8 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service. Funeral will be Saturday, February 22 at 2 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Earl Fuller officiating with the eulogy read by her granddaughters. Burial will be at Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg, Mo. "No flowers, make a donation to your church or charity that may help someone else. Where flowers are here today and gone tomorrow, they don't do anyone good and they are expensive too."
