Rosemary C. Wieberg

Rosemary C. Wieberg, age 90, of St. Anthony, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Koeltztown on September 29, 1929, daughter of the late Alois and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Bock. Rosemary had a passion for gardening, hummingbirds, and the outdoors. Her favorite pastimes included playing cards, traveling, and baking. Her specialty was making popcorn balls for Halloween treats. Rosemary loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them and her friends. Rosemary began her working career at Tweedie's Shoe Factory and was later employed with LB Manufacturing where she retired. Following retirement, Rosemary worked at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rosemary was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, St. Anthony Senior Citizens and St. Anthony Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by five sons, Stanley Wieberg and wife, Sandra (Buechter) of St. Elizabeth, Walter Wieberg and wife Linda (Voss) of St. Anthony, Larry "Cotton" Wieberg and wife Peggy (Buechter) of St. Anthony, Leroy Wieberg of St. Anthony and Daniel Wieberg and wife Laila (Salazar) of Murrieta, Calif.; three daughters, Leona Young and husband John of Pilot Grove, Patricia Aitken and husband Tim of Ashland and Janice Brand of St. Anthony; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Elizabeth Bock; husband, Lenus Wieberg; two sons, David and John Wieberg; grandson, Lance Young; and brother, Walter Bock. Due to limited seating, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 14, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 14, at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m. and rosary at 7 p.m., on Thursday, August 13, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. In accordance with the CDC recommendations facial masks are encouraged for those attending the visitation. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Anthony Cemetery Fund.
