Alice Audrey (Allgeyer) Wehrle, 94, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born July 19, 1926, in Rhineland, Missouri to Hulda Mary (Grotoweil) Allgeyer and Hugo Allgeyer. She grew up on a farm owned by her parents in the river bottom area of Rhineland. She graduated from Hermann High School and attended Missouri University. She was married to William H. "Bill" Wehrle on October 23, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rhineland. They moved to Jefferson City in 1948. Alice worked for the state and later for Millsap's Department Store. She went on to be a homemaker in the mid 50's. She was a beautiful seamstress and sewed many school uniforms and dance costumes over the years. She also volunteered as a Cub Scout leader and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the East Side Betterment Committee and a Board Member of the Sheltered Work Shop. Alice was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the American Legion Auxiliary Roscoe Enloe Unit 5. In 2019, she was crowned Ms. Nursing Home Queen for this district. She was a fun contestant and gave the advice of "Live for the Day". Alice and her husband Bill were charter members of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. Alice loved playing golf and bridge with her friends. In the couple's retirement years, they spent their winters in Tucson Arizona for 20 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Alice was a sweet and giving lady that loved her family and was very proud of them. She especially enjoyed spending time with them. She loved "showing off" pictures of her grandkids and great-grandkids to everyone. Mrs. Wehrle is survived by her two children, Claudia J. Goodin (Charley) and Michael W. Wehrle (Mary) of Jefferson City. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Angela L. Northway (Mitch) and Elizabeth A. Loethen (Scott) of Jefferson City, Matthew M. Wehrle (Trish) of Flower Mound, Texas, and Samuel W. Wehrle (Brittany) of Euless, Texas. Great- grandchildren are Ian M. Northway, Alex Scott Loethen, Coen Michael Loethen, Parker John Loethen, Addison Ann Wehrle, Aubrey Alice Wehrle and Avery Austin Wehrle. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Wehrle in 2008 after 61 years of marriage and by her siblings, Helen Aubuchon, Guy Allgeyer and Earl Allgeyer. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Antweiler officiating. The service will be live streamed for those who wish to watch from home. The link can be found on Alice's obituary page at www.dulletrimble.com. The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance.
