Martha M. Plassmeyer, 87, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019, at Jefferson City Manor. She was born February 26, 1932, in St. Elizabeth, Missouri, the daughter of the late Henry and Theresa (Duebbert) Boeckmann. Martha was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School and attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. She was united in marriage on September 8, 1951, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, Missouri to Norbert John Plassmeyer, who preceded her in death on January 29, 2013. Martha began work teaching in a one room school house, then helped her husband run Plassmeyer Cafe in St. Elizabeth, and eventually retired from Cheeseborough Ponds in Jefferson City as a quality control inspector. After retirement, Martha and her husband enjoyed to travel the U.S. and traveled to Germany. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, fishing, and camping. Survivors include five children: Larry (Sandy) Plassmeyer, Virginia; Jo Ann Plassmeyer-Schulte, Columbia; Virgil (Becky) Plassmeyer, Holts Summit; Alex (Jane) Plassmeyer, Jefferson City; Carol (Mark) Norman, Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene (Frank) Utley, Seattle, Wash.; and Marcella (Bernard) Schwartz, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Lucille (Wally) Kraus, Agnes Signago, Florence (Al) Hoffman, Annie (Grover) Wilson; and three brothers, Louis (Elizabeth) Boeckmann, Frank (Aretus) Boeckmann, and Raymond Boeckmann. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
