William Dean Stockman

William Dean Stockman, 55, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 4, 1964, in Jefferson City, a son of the late Leroy and Dolores (Schaefer) Stockman. He was united in marriage to Danelle Rutledge, April 29, 1995, in Jefferson City. Bill was a 1982 graduate of Helias High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy where he was a part of the Invasion of Grenada. Upon the completion of his service he attended SMSU and Columbia College where he earned degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Finance. In 1993, he created Pizza Haus and over 25 years he opened many franchises. He was a successful business owner who enjoyed interacting with customers every day. Bill was proud to give many teenagers their first jobs where he could teach them a strong work ethic in a fun environment. Bill was also a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed for the last several years, where he traveled across Missouri and many other states to assist people with retirement plans and investments. He never met a stranger, and could carry on a conversation with anyone he saw. He loved classic cars, making moonshine, watching Chiefs football, telling "Dad" jokes, putting up trail cameras and hunting with his son, watching old western movies, and driving his tractor around the farm. Bill looked forward to preparing meals for his family every holiday, as well as teaching his daughters new recipes. His pride was his family and he will be remembered as a devoted husband and exceptional father who lived his life with integrity. Bill is survived by his wife: Danelle Stockman; children: Paige Anders (Jason), Taylor Stockman (Cody Eads), and Brody Stockman; brothers: Mitchell Stockman (Terry), Brian Stockman (Cathy), Jeffrey Stockman (Karmen); sisters: Christine Stokes (Mark), Lori Morris (Warren) and Heather Schrimpf (Ryan); mother-in-law: Sammie Kirchner (Roger); father-in-law: Dan Rutledge (Deede); in-laws: Richard Lueckenhoff, Kevin and Cassie Kirchner, Andy Kirchner, and Joe and Whitney Kearns; nephew and little buddy, Logan Kirchner; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister: Rebecca Lueckenhoff and his parents: Leroy and Dolores Stockman. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Prayer Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
