William "Bill" Arney

William "Bill" Nichols Arney, Jr., 70, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at his home. He was born on April 17, 1949, in Moberly, Missouri, a son of the late William Nichols and Flossie 'Marie' (Gravitt) Arney Sr. He was united in marriage to Donna Hubble in Jefferson City, Missouri. Bill attended and graduated from Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Missouri. He proudly joined the United States Navy as a Seamen rec. He then went to work at Missouri Department of Corrections from 1969 to 2000, where he retired. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing and listening to some good music. He was a member of the American Legion and NRA. Most of all, Bill treasured the memories created with family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of the home: Donna Arney; children: Billy Bob Arney, Tim Dolman and Tina Singleton (Jeremy); brother: Ron Arney (Sammi); sisters: Nona Bezler (Rick) and Nancy Arney; grandchildren: Dustyn Singleton, Miranda Singleton and Brayden Ewers; great-grandchild: Ariel Rose Gordon and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, in Holts Summit. Funeral Services will be immediately following with Brother Frank Whitney officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
