Irene (Kempker) Morris

Irene (Kempker) Morris, 92, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Miller County Care and Rehab in Tuscumbia, Missouri. She was born June 10, 1927, in Mary's Home, Missouri, the daughter of the late Lawrence George "L.G." and Katherine (Doerhoff) Kempker. On October 12, 1946, in Mary's Home, Missouri she was united in marriage to Gail S. Morris who preceded her in death on May 31, 2003. Irene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Sodality and the quilters group. She was an avid volunteer and homemaker. She was also a member of the VFW Post #2442 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include: sons, Larry Morris (Ginny) of Olean, Mo., Curt Morris (Janet) of Eldon, Mo.; eight grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Kliethermes of Olean, Mo.; and daughter-in-law, Nita Morris of Eldon, Mo. A son, David Morris and six brothers preceded her in death. Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo., with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, Mo. with Rev. Alex Gabriel officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, Mo. Memorials in her name are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
