Niezing wins Missouri Mid-Amateur

Chad Niezing of Manchester captured the title Sunday in the Missouri Mid-Amateur Championship at Jefferson City Country Club.

Niezing opened with a 67 on Saturday before carding a 70 on Sunday to win by four shots ahead of Doug Albers of Kansas City. It is Niezing's second Missouri Mid-Amateur Championship title.

Chris Kivach of St. Louis and Adam Pfeiffer of Quincy., Ill., tied for third with 143s in the two-day tournament.

Kory Bowman, a former Jefferson City Jay who lives in Springfield, tied for 27th with a 151.

Ed Brown of Indepenence won the Jefferson City Memorial Senior title with a two-day total of 144. Brown is now a two-time champion in the event.

Brian Scott of Fredericktown was second with a 146.

A.J. Kroeger of Jefferson City won the Super Senior Division of the Jefferson City Memorial with a two-day total of 149.

Gerald Siemons of Jefferson City and Don Kuehn of Kansas City tied for second, one shot back of Kroeger.
