Pitts chosen as track coach at Helias

Phil Pitts has been named as the new track and field coach at Helias Catholic High School.

"I am truly blessed and excited for this opportunity to lead the track program at a school I love so much," Pitts said in a news release issued by the school Monday. "I have so much respect for all the people who have helped build Helias into an amazing school and I look forward to working with the community."

Pitts is a 2000 graduate of Helias and has coached high school and college football as well as high school baseball. He and his wife Lindsey live in Jefferson City with their three children.

"I am excited for Coach Pitts to begin serving as head track coach for Helias Catholic High School," Father Stephen Jones, president, stated in the news release. "Phil's passion for Catholic education and for forming young people through athletics will be a great asset as he takes on this role in our school."
