Helias up a spot, Blair Oaks falls in football rankings

The Helias Crusaders moved up while the Blair Oaks Falcons tumbled in this week's Missouri Media football rankings released Monday night.

Helias (3-1) is up one spot to No. 9 in the Class 5 rankings after defeating Granite City, Ill., 49-0 last Friday night at Ray Hentges Stadium.

Blair Oaks (3-1) dropped from No. 1 to No. 7 in Class 3 after dropping a 41-35 decision last Friday night on the road at Boonville. Boonville (3-1) jumped into the Class 3 rankings this week at No. 6.

Odessa (4-0) is the new No. 1 team in Class 3, receiving all 10 first-place votes.

Lamar (4-0) is the other unanimous No. 1 selection, topping the Class 2 rankings.

C.B.C. (3-1) received five first-place votes and tops the Class 6 rankings. Liberty North (2-1) received four-first place votes and is in at No. 2, while No. 3 Joplin (4-0) received the other first-place nod.

Jackson (4-0) is No. 1 in Class 5 with nine first-place votes. Carthage (4-0) received the other first-place vote and is in at No. 2.

Smithville (4-0) remains atop the Class 4 rankings with eight first-place votes. No. 2 West Plains (4-0) and No. 3 MICDS (4-0) eached received one first-place vote.

In Class 1, Windsor (4-0) stayed at No. 1 and received nine of the 10 first-place votes. No. 3 Mid-Buchanan (4-0) got the other first-place vote.
