Capital City volleyball wins against Warrensburg

WARRENSBURG - The Capital City Lady Cavaliers completed their second tripleheader sweep of the season Thursday, capping the night with a 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22 varsity win against the Warrensburg Lady Tigers.

Grace Marshall had a double-double of 14 assists and a team-best 10 blocks, along with a team-high nine kills. Reagan Carel also had a double-double of 17 assists and 14 digs, while Ruby Sprenger had a team-high 17 digs to go with seven kills.

Ava Meinhardt and Julia Kollmeyer each had 13 digs, Kiara Strayhorn added seven kills and Carel served four aces.

Capital City (3-5-3) will host California on Tuesday.

The Lady Cavaliers started the tripleheader with a 25-22, 25-18 win in the freshman match, improving to 4-4-1.

Carmen Hill had a team-high 13 digs, Layla Hess served six aces and Aidyn Honse had six assists. Myla Wilson, Kari Kemna and Allie Allen each had two kills.

In the JV match, Capital City won 25-23, 25-22 to move to 5-2.

Addison Jones had a double-double of 13 digs and 11 assists, while Kalley Brase had a team-high six kills. Sarina Litteken had seven assists and Leah Warren added nine digs.
