VERSAILLES — The Versailles Lady Tigers outlasted the California Lady Pintos for a 6-5 win in 11 innings Tuesday in Tri-County Conference action.

Both starting pitchers — Versailles' Joscelynn Marriott and California's Ellie Clay — struck out 13 batters in complete-game efforts.

Marriott was the winning pitcher, giving up nine hits and three walks. Clay allowed eight hits and eight walks.

With the score tied at 3 through six innings, California took a two-run lead on an RBI single by Kaylena Riggs, with a second run scoring on an error.

In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and two outs, Versailles tied the game by scoring a pair of runs on an error, forcing extra innings.

The Lady Tigers walked it off with two outs in the bottom of the 11th.

Ary Jones had three hits to lead Versailles, while Kylee Wright had three hits and two RBI for California. Ella Percival also had a pair of hits for the Lady Pintos.

Versailles (7-3, 1-1 Tri-County), which is receiving votes in the MHSFCA Class 3 state rankings, will host Richland on Thursday.

California (5-7, 1-1 Tri-County) plays Thursday at Class 3 No. 10 Southern Boone.
