Prep Volleyball: Blair Oaks 3, Cuba 0

WARDSVILLE - The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons opened their postseason Saturday with a 25-9, 25-11, 25-12 win against the Cuba Lady Wildcats in the first round of the Class 3 District 8 Tournament.

The win was the 30th of the season for Blair Oaks, which has recorded 30-win seasons in five of the past seven years.

Autumn Bax led the Lady Falcons with 13 kills, followed by Bailey Braun with eight kills and Sarah Girard with five. Madi Rissmiller had a team-high 21 assists and Libby Juergensmeyer added nine assists.

Payton Mitchell tallied a team-best 10 digs, while Anna Wekenborg served four aces and Rissmiller added three aces.

Cuba ends its season with a 13-12-1 record.

Blair Oaks (30-4), the No. 1 seed, will face second-seeded Fatima (14-14-4) in the district championship match at 6 p.m. Monday. In their Sept. 30 match in the regular season, Blair Oaks defeated Fatima 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.

The Lady Comets won Saturday's other semifinal match 25-17, 25-14, 25-16 against third-seeded Owensville.
