Fatima wins team titles, Eldon's Reynolds, Martonfi take home individual victories

WESTPHALIA - Fatima swept the team titles, while Eldon claimed both individual champions Saturday in the Fatima Invitational at the Knights of Columbus Sports Complex.

The Comets won the boys team title with 53 points, six points better than runner-up Linn. The Lady Comets won by a more comfortable margin, recording 44 points, with St. Clair in second place with 79.

Nathan Reynolds won the boys race for Eldon, crossing the finish line in 17:37.91, while Zoe Martonfi won the girls race for the Lady Mustangs with a time of 19:29.86.

The Fatima boys were led by Cody Berhorst, who took sixth place out of 71 runners with a time of 18:48.55. Tyler Kloeppel was next for the Comets, finishing 11th in 19:07.75, while Thomas Libbert placed 13th in 19:11.00.

Cody Kampeter was 15th in 19:14.25 and Scott Sankey took 16th in 19:18.12 to round out Fatima's team score.

Lauren Berhorst paced the Fatima girls with a time of 21:15.94, coming in third place out of 59 runners. Sarah Groene was fifth in 22:17.67, followed by Emma Bower in sixth in 22:41.16.

Addyson Wilbers finished 20th with a time of 24:30.25 and Corinn Karst placed 22nd in 24:46.62 to round out Fatima's team score.

Capital City's JV teams competed at the Invitational. The boys finished fourth out of nine teams with 122 points and the girls were fourth out of six teams with 85 points.

Braden Voss and Levi Casey led the Capital City boys. Voss took 17th place with a time of 19:23.40, followed by Casey in 18th place in 19:37.00.

Gabriel Wilkins took 27th with a time of 20:11.51 for the Cavaliers, followed by David Golden (35th, 20:29.69), Zachary Brown (41st, 20:44.14), Gauge Walker (43rd, 20:55.27) and Thomas Harlan (50th, 21:22.64).

For the Capital City girls, Jacinda Espinosa came in 11th place with a time of 23:38.70. Elizabeth Dunn placed 17th in 24:01.36, followed by Alyson Linhardt in 18th in 24:13.26.

Other runners for the Lady Cavaliers were Katherine Faherty (29th, 25:47.48) and Braelynn Hoskins (50th, 28:52.23) to round out the team score.

The Linn boys were led by Trenton Burnett, who finished fifth with a time of 18:28.38. Gibson Tschappler also placed in the top 10, taking eighth in 18:51.97.

The California boys were seventh in the team standings with 174 points, followed by South Callaway in eighth with 184 points and Eldon taking ninth with 206.

Dylan Dugan had the top time for the Bulldogs, crossing the finish line in 20:15.98 to place 29th, while Ian Miller was 30th in 20:20.83 to lead the Pintos.

Jamestown was paced by Carter Monroe, who finished 28th in 20:15.66, while Chamois' Caleb Keilholz took 38th in 20:37.38. Tipton's Johnathan Matchett led the Cardinals with a time of 22:15.84 to finish 60th.

The Eldon girls were third in the team standings with 83 points, while Linn placed fifth with 88 points.

Myra Baker led the Lady Wildcats with a 12th-place time of 23:39.13.

The California girls were led by Kenzleigh Goans, who came in seventh place with a time of 23:04.81. South Callaway's Raegan Brown also finished in the top 10, placing ninth in 23:20.26.

Tipton's Carsyn Petree took 24th in 24:55.85 and Chamois' Madeline Gerloff was 26th in 25:00.73.
