WESTPHALIA — The Fatima Comets combined to score 55 points in the second and third quarters Tuesday night, routing the Eldon Mustangs 90-42.

Fatima led 19-9 after one quarter, then increased that lead to 49-18 at halftime and 74-33 through three quarters.

Lee Verslues finished with a game-high 27 points for the Comets. Nate Lehmen had 12 points and Nathan Brandt also reached double figures with 10 points.

Gardner Casey had a team-high 11 points for the Mustangs.

Fatima (1-0) will begin Show-Me Conference play next Friday at home against South Callaway.

Eldon (1-1) is the No. 8 seed in next week's Tri-County Conference Tournament at Boonville. The Mustangs will open against top-seeded Blair Oaks at 4 p.m. next Tuesday.
