St. Elizabeth uses 11-run first inning to beat Tuscumbia

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. - The Tuscumbia Lions scored six runs in the top of the first inning Monday against the St. Elizabeth Hornets.

The Hornets had a decisive answer, scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the inning on their way to a 20-9 victory in five innings against the Lions in Show-Me Conference play.

Brock Lucas was on base five times for the Hornets, finishing with four hits and a walk. He drove on four runs.

Caleb Oligschaleger had three hits - two doubles and a triple - for St. Elizabeth and totaled eight RBI.

Isaac Green was the winning pitcher in relief for St. Elizabeth, working the final 4 innings. He allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out 10.

St. Elizabeth (13-5, 4-2 Show-Me), ranked No. 10 in Class 1, is slated to play today at New Bloomfield to wrap up conference play.
