The Blair Oaks Falcons will look to get into the state basketball tournament bracket while the Tipton Lady Cardinals and the Eugene Lady Eagles look to extend their stays their respective brackets in action this afternoon.

Blair Oaks (21-4) will take on the St. James Tigers (10-11) for the Class 4 District 9 Tournament title this afternoon in Owensville. Game time is 3 p.m.

Blair Oaks, the No. 1 seed in the district, advanced to the title game with a 71-32 victory Thursday night against Owensville in the semifinals in Wardsville. St. James, the No. 3 seed, upended second-seeded Fatima 61-54 on Thursday night in Westphalia after beating sixth-seeded Cuba 79-24 in the opening round.

The Falcons and the Tigers did not play in the regular season.

The Blair Oaks-St. James winner advances to next Tuesday night's sectional game against the District 10 champion — either top-seeded Buffalo (18-9) or second-seeded School of the Osage (10-14). Those teams will meet for the title at noon today at Osage.

Tipton (24-4) will host Clark County (16-7) in the Class 3 quarterfinals in a 1 p.m. contest.

The Lady Cardinals advanced with a 70-53 victory Wednesday against South Callaway in a sectional game. Tipton has won 15 of its last 16 games, the lone blemish a 56-48 loss Feb. 13 at Walnut Grove.

Clark County was a 42-22 winner against Duchesne in its sectional. It was the ninth straight win for Indians since falling 49-45 to Class 2 quarterfinalist Scotland County on Jan. 29.

The winner advances to next Friday's semifinals against the winner of today's quarterfinal between Skyline (25-4) and Milan (21-4). The semifinal is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Hammons Student Center in Springfield.

Eugene (15-6) will travel to northeast Missouri to face Scotland County (21-5) in a Class 2 quarterfinal contest in Memphis. Game time is 1 p.m.

Eugene moved to this afternoon's game with a 55-39 sectional win Wednesday night at Harrisburg. Scotland County was a 48-45 winner against New Haven in its sectional game.

Eugene has won its three postseason games by an average score of 53-26. Scotland County has won 13 of its last 14 games, with the lone loss being a 62-60 decision Feb. 19 at Class 3 quarterfinalist Milan.

The Eugene-Scotland County winner advances to take on either Wellngton-Napoleon (22-2) or Bishop LeBlond (18-7) in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Thursday at JQH Arena in Springfield.
