Girls Basketball: St. Elizabeth 57, Tuscumbia 49

ST. ELIZABETH - The St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets won their first Show-Me Conference contest of the season Monday, defeating the Tuscumbia Lady Lions 57-49.

St. Elizabeth led from the get-go, holding a 16-7 advantage after one quarter. The Lady Hornets extended their lead to 30-14 by halftime and 44-23 through three quarters.

Tuscumbia, which had its five-game win streak snapped with the loss, scored 26 points in the fourth quarter to trim the final margin to single digits.

Harley Engelmeyer scored a game-high 15 points to lead St. Elizabeth. Ella Lucas and Addie Oligschlaeger each finished with 10 points.

Addi Rogers finished also had a game-high 15 points to pace Tuscumbia. Kylee Ash also reached double figures with 12 points.

St. Elizabeth (5-5, 1-1 Show-Me) is off until next Monday, when it hosts Vienna.

Tuscumbia (6-4, 0-1 Show-Me) resumes conference play Thursday at home against South Callaway.
