Girls Basketball: Capital City 69, New Bloomfield 51

TIPTON - The Capital City Lady Cavaliers ended Wednesday night's semifinal game on a 25-9 run, turning a close contest into a comfortable 69-51 win against the New Bloomfield Lady Wildcats.

Leading 44-42 in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, Capital City scored 16 of the game's next 18 points to turn a one-possession game into a 14-point lead midway through the quarter.

The score was tied at 13 at the end of the first quarter. New Bloomfield ended the second quarter on an 8-3 run to lead 31-26 at halftime.

The Lady Wildcats led by as many as eight points at 34-26 in the third quarter, but the Lady Cavaliers ended the quarter on an 18-6 run to lead 44-40 going into the fourth.

Capital City had four players score in double figures, led by Natalie Allison with a game-high 17 points. Addison Jones finished with 13 points, while Kyla James and Jada Anderson each scored 12 points.

For New Bloomfield, Ellie Emerson and Macie Abbott each had 11 points.

Capital City (3-1), the No. 2 seed, will play top-seeded Tipton for the tournament championship at 5 p.m. Saturday.

New Bloomfield (2-2), the No. 3 seed, will face fourth-seeded Russellville in the third-place game at 2 p.m. Saturday.
