Prep Baseball: New Bloomfield 6, Lone Jack 5

NEW BLOOMFIELD - The New Bloomfield Wildcats batted around in the fifth inning to rally from five runs down Friday in a 6-5 victory against the Lone Jack Mules in the New Bloomfield/Calvary Lutheran Tournament.

Lone Jack scored one run in the second and third innings before adding three in the fourth.

New Bloomfield then recorded three of its four hits in the fifth inning on its way to taking a 6-5 lead.

Lucas Buscher capped off the inning with a bases-clearing triple.

Matthew Shikles and Dylan Brenneke each singled in the inning.

Trevor Jordan pitched the final 3 innings to earn the win. He allowed three hits, walked one and struck out one.

Buscher started the game on the mound, allowing five runs (four earned) and two hits with six strikeouts and five walks.

New Bloomfield (4-4) will host St. Elizabeth at 10:30 a.m. today in the tournament semifinals.
