Helias rolls past Capital City in boys tennis

The Helias Crusaders nearly swept Thursday's action against the Capital City Cavaliers, winning 8-1 in a Central Missouri Activities Conference matchup at Capital City High School.

In doubles, Justin Francka and Ethan Foucheaux won 8-6 against Visshva Anto and Jonathan Dunville, Andrew Dowden and Caleb Mueller won 8-0 against Miles Andrews and Trevor Vogt, and Matt Schepers and Jacob Zerr won 8-2 against Xander Schmid and David Ashcroft.

Anto picked up an 8-5 victory against Francka in singles play.

In other singles action, Dowden defeated Dunville 8-2, Foucheaux won 8-2 against Andrews, Mueller defeated Vogt 8-2, Schepers won 8-2 against Schmid and Zerr won 8-3 against Ashcroft.

Winning in JV singles for Helias were Caleb Porting, who defeated Christian Flowers 6-1, and Lucas Woods, who won 6-2 against Flowers.

Helias (4-3, 1-3 CMAC) will play at 9 a.m. today in the Marshall Tournament.

Capital City (2-5, 0-2) will play Monday at Mexico.
