Boys Track: Hillcrest Invitational

SPRINGFIELD - The Capital City Cavaliers and the Jefferson City Jays competed Friday in the weather-shortened Hillcrest Invitational.

Capital City finished 12th in the 29-team event with 15 points, while Jefferson City was 16th with 11.

Keion Grieve led the finishers for the Cavaliers, placing third in the 800-meter run (2:00.45). TJ Dyer was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (42.09), while Connor Hull was sixth in the 400-meter dash (52.90).

The Cavaliers also finished eighth in the 4x200-meter relay (1:33.84).

Capital City is scheduled to run Tuesday at the Union Relays.

The Jays finished in the top eight in seven events.

David Bethune was fifth in the 200-meter dash (23.12) and tied for seventh in the long jump (20 feet, 2 inches), while Parker Gourley tied for fifth in the pole vault (10-5.5). Finishing eighth for Jefferson City were Andrew Nield in the 1,600-meter run (4:34.51), Jackson Figo in the discus (122-5.25) and Bryson Briggs in the shot put (43-7.5).

Jefferson City finished sixth in the 4x100-meter relay (44.79).

Jefferson City will host the Licklider Relays this Saturday at Adkins Stadium.
