Prep Baseball: South Callaway 23, Tuscumbia 2

TUSCUMBIA - The South Callaway Bulldogs used an 11-run first inning Monday to pull away to a 23-2 win in three innings against the Tuscumbia Lions in Show-Me Conference action.

South Callway added eight runs in the second inning and four runs in the third to win by run-rule.

The Bulldogs took advantage of 19 walks and seven hit-by-pitches. Dustin Russell had two of South Callaway's six hits, including a grand slam in the top of the first. He finished with a game-high six RBI.

Trace Helsel, Jacob Martin, Ryan Lepper, Dane Daugherty and Jonathon Thomas each added two RBI for the Bulldogs.

Daugherty was the winning pitcher. In three innings, he allowed two runs on three hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Dakota Wilson-Holland had an RBI single to lead the Lions.

South Callaway (5-8, 2-0 Show-Me) begins a four-game homestand Thursday against Wright City.

Tuscumbia (1-4, 0-2 Show-Me) hosts Crocker today.
