Prep Baseball: Fatima 3, St. Elizabeth 1

ST. ELIZABETH -- The St. Elizabeth Hornets had a slow day at the plate and lost at home to the Fatima Comets 3-1 on Monday.

Brock Lucas got the start on the mound for the Hornets, pitching six innings while allowing three runs (two earned), five hits, three walks and struck out eight Comets. Caleb Oligschlaeger relieved him in the seventh inning without a scoreless frame and struck out two batters.

Brady Kemna scored the lone run for the Hornets on an errant throw as a courtesy runner.

Blake Wobbe went 2-for-3 at the plate for St. Elizabeth, while Levi Holtmeyer added a single and a walk in a 1-for-2 effort.

Fatima (7-2), ranked No. 4 in Class 4, will look to extend its three-game winning streak tonight when it travels to Columbia to take on Battle.

St. Elizabeth (2-3), ranked No. 1 in Class 1, hosts Newburg on Thursday.
