LINN - The Versailles Tigers and the Eldon Lady Mustangs won team titles Thursday at the Linn Invitational.
The Lady Mustangs won the final event of the night, the 4x400-meter relay, needing all 10 points to finish with 127.5 points, half a point ahead of Hermann. Fatima was third with 103.5 points and Blair Oaks finished fourth with 86.5.
The Eldon girls won five events. In addition to winning the 4x400, Zoe Martonfi was a double-winner for the Lady Mustangs, taking first in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles. Caroline Beckmann also took first in the 200-meter dash and Heather Harbison added a win in the pole vault.
The Blair Oaks girls came away with three event victories. Emily Sporleder won the 800-meter run, while the Lady Falcons also finished first in the 4x200- and 4x800-meter relays.
Belle's Grace Schultz was a double-winner, taking home titles in the girls 100-meter dash and the long jump.
Fatima added a first-place finish in the remaining relay event, the 4x100, while Eugene's Olivia Angerer finished first in the high jump. Tipton's Lily Burns added a first-place finish in the girls shot put.
The Tigers finished with 109 points, 11 more than runner-up St. James. Hermann was third with 96 points and Blair Oaks was fourth with 63.
The Versailles boys won the 4x200, while Michael Bell added a title for the Tigers in the triple jump.
The Falcons also finished with a pair of event wins, as Jayden Purdy placed first in the pole vault and Alex Tappel won the discus.
In other boys track events, Tipton's Johnanthan Matchett won the 400-meter dash, New Bloomfield's Caleb Distler finished first in the 800 and Eugene's Garret Robinett crossed the finish line first in the 200.
Colton Phillips accounted for the Mustangs' one win, placing first in the boys shot put.
