UNION - The Capital City Cavaliers and Lady Cavaliers have yet to finish lower than first place in team standings.
Both teams won titles Thursday at the Union Open. The Cavaliers won the boys title with 205.5 points, nearly doubling up Rolla's 107 for second place, while the Lady Cavaliers finished with 158.33, edging Rolla's 153 points.
Capital City combined to win 16 of the 38 events in the six-team Open.
The Cavaliers won three of the four boys relay events.
Keion Grieve was a triple-winner for the Capital City boys. In addition to running on the winning 4x400- and 4x800-meter relays, Grieve also was first in the 400-meter dash.
Cameron Harrison ran legs on the Cavaliers' winning 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays. Ben Lear won in the 4x800 and the 3,200-meter run, while Augustine Samuel took first in the 4x100 and the 110-meter hurdles.
For the Lady Cavaliers, Kiara Strayhorn won all four individual events. She finished first in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, in addition to winning the high jump and the long jump.
Gwyn DeFeo placed first in the 800-meter run, while Kalie Strayhorn crossed the finish line first in the 200-meter dash. Shayla Stewart added a first-place finish in the girls shot put.
