Cross Country: Calvary Lutheran boys take third

HERMITAGE - The Calvary Lutheran Lions finished third as a team Saturday in the Hermitage Invitational.

Calvary Lutheran scored 71 points in the Purple Division team standings. Hermitage won with 54 points, while Stockton was second with 64. Russellville was fourth with 90.

Kyle Hagemeyer finished sixth out of 119 runners with a time of 18:31.78. Cole Going placed 14th for the Lions in 19:18.21, followed by Grant Going in 17th place in 19:28.52. Jaxson Jobe was 29th (20:05.38), Isaiah Barg was 36th (20:47.13) and Lars Marion finished 81st (22:53.77).

Campbell Nichols led Russellville with a fifth-place time of 18:26.75. Arjay Wilson was next for the Indians in 11th place with a time of 19:06.20. Other runners for the Indians were Simon Hartman (34th, 20:30.16), Ronald Bocklage (39th, 20:55.21), Cole Vaughn (40th, 20:57.70), Isaiah Kauffman (42nd, 21:00.27) and Roby Mehmert (90th, 23:30.78).

In the girls race, Calvary Lutheran's Maddie Homfeldt finished fourth out of 69 runners with a time of 23:11.94. Baileigh Morris was next for the Lady Lions, finished 23rd in a time of 25:41.54, while Sydney Morris was 45th in 28:25.10 and Rebecca Schatte was 46th in 28:27.60.

Calvary Lutheran did not post a team score.

The Russellville Lady Indians won the team title with 24 points, well ahead of the 60 points posted by runner-up Skyline.

Audrey Klatt led the Lady Indians with a sixth-place time of 23:39.78, followed by Natalie Kirchner in seventh in 23:41.03. Olivia Barnett was 11th in 24:08.00.

Other runners for the Russellville girls were Paige Randolph (20th, 24:51.87), Brettlynn Strother (21st, 24:59.34) and Amanda Moulton (41st, 28:15.49).

In the Yellow Division of the Hermitage Invitational, the Osage girls finished eighth as a team with 204 points. The Lady Indians were led by Sara Wolf, who finished 19th out of 76 runners with a time of 22:23.58.

On the boys side, Osage was eighth as a team with 234 points, while Versailles was 10th with 241 points.

The Indians were led by John Markovitz, who placed 23rd out of 81 runners with a time of 18:44.69. The Tigers were led by Seth Newton, who finished 26th with a time of 19:00.53, less than a second ahead of teammate Jacob Schrock.
