Prep Softball: Russellville 6, St. Elizabeth 1

ST. ELIZABETH - Reagan Jenkins had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run Tuesday to lead the Russellville Lady Indians to a 6-1 win against the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets in Show-Me Conference play.

Russellville scored four runs in the top of the third inning. Cali Coombs started the scoring with an RBI triple. Jenkins followed with an RBI single and Ryleigh Case hit a two-run single to make the score 4-0.

Jenkins hit a two-run homer to center field in the seventh, scoring Coombs.

St. Elizabeth scored its lone run in the bottom of the sixth, when Addie Oligschlaeger scored on a fielder's choice.

Case went 3-for-4 with three singles and two RBI, while Coombs had a triple and a single and Kalyn Smith had a single and a double for the Lady Indians.

Smith was the winning pitcher, walking two and striking out three in seven innings.

St. Elizabeth finished the game with two hits. Oligschlaeger and Elizabeth Struemph each had a single.

Emily Wilde pitched for the Lady Hornets, allowing six runs on 11 hits with one walk and one strikeout in seven innings.

In the JV game, the Lady Indians won 8-3.

Russellville (7-2, 1-1 Show-Me) hosts Fayette at 5 p.m. today.

St. Elizabeth (3-4, 1-1 Show-Me) plays Friday at Iberia.
