Prep Baseball: St. Elizabeth 15, Tuscumbia 5

TUSCUMBIA - The St. Elizabeth Hornets came away with a 15-5 win in five innings Tuesday against the Tuscumbia Lions.

Jace Kesel went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI to lead the Hornets' hitting attack, while Clayton Holtmeyer was also 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Trent Bax was the winning pitcher in relief. In three scoreless innings, he gave up three hits and one walk while striking out four.

Levi Holtmeyer started and pitched one-plus innings, allowing five runs and three walks to go with two strikeouts. Clayton Holtmeyer pitched the fifth inning and struck out three with one walk.

St. Elizabeth (3-1) opens play Friday in the Eugene AA Bash Tournament against Eugene's JV team.
