SEDALIA — It took a week to finish the match, but the Jefferson City Lady Jays came away with an 8-1 dual win Tuesday against the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers in Central Missouri Activities Conference play.

The match started last Tuesday, but was suspended due to rain, with the Lady Jays leading 3-0.

Jefferson City won all six singles matches. Picking up wins were Sandhiya Baskar (8-1), Madelyn Becker (8-2), Sudhi Kumar (5-1 default win), Sydney Jordan (8-1), Joanna Chen (8-0) and Kenedy Fischer (8-0).

In doubles action, Baskar and Chen won 8-2, while Jordan and Ficsher won 8-1. Becker and Kumar dropped their match 6-8.

The Lady Jays also won the JV match 4-0.

Jefferson City (8-1, 3-0 CMAC) plays at 4 p.m. today at Camdenton.
