Prep Volleyball: Nixa tops Jefferson City

The Jefferson City Lady Jays closed out the regular season Saturday with a 12-25, 22-25, 22-25 loss to the Nixa Lady Eagles at Fleming Fieldhouse.

Kayla Walters led the Lady Jays with 12 kills and tallied four digs. Rhakala Blackmon recorded eight kills and three blocks, Paige Reeser had 26 assists, eight digs and three blocks and Sydney Vogt led the team in digs with 11.

Jefferson City (13-13-2) will play Tuesday in the first round of the Class 5 District 9 Tournament at Capital City.

The No. 2 seed Lady Jays will face No. 3 seed Sedalia Smith-Cotton at 5:30 p.m.

The Jefferson City JV team fell 20-25, 25-22, 11-15 to Nixa to enc its season at 15-11-4.

Hannah Vogt tallied 18 assists, five aces and four digs, while Elicia Theroff had nine kills and five blocks.

Jefferson City fell 22-25, 23-25 in the freshman match to finish with a record of 6-12-2.

Riley Schonhardt recorded six kills and seven digs and Lauryn Heisler had six kills.
