Cross Country: Calvary Lutheran boys win Bowling Green Invitational

BOWLING GREEN - Three Calvary Lutheran Lions placed in the top 10 Friday as they won the team title at the Bowling Green Invitational.

Calvary Lutheran finished with 62 points, Russellville was third with 94 points and New Bloomfield finished fifth with 129 points in the Red Division.

New Bloomfield's Nathan Hinrichs won the boys race in a time of 16:28.32.

The top Calvary runner was Kyle Hagemeyer in third with a time of 17:17.02. Cole Going place sixth in 18:08.51 and Jaxson Jobe was close behind in seventh in 18:10.61.

Isaiah Barg placed 23rd in 19:26.90 and Josh Thieme was 31st in 20:02.24 to contribute to the team score.

Leading the Russellville Indians was Campbell Nichols with a fourth-place finish in 17:32.67. Arjay Wilson placed 14th (19:08.44), Simon Hartman was 19th (19:19.59), Ronald Bocklage placed 34th (20:10.64) and Cole Vaughn finished 39th (20:22.53).

Scoring points for New Bloomfield were Brian Figard (25th, 19:41.40), Jace Pitzen (38th, 20:16.49), Gabriel Browning (41st, 20:26.57) and Aidan Carr (49th, 20:58.02).

The Russellville girls placed second with 95 points, just two points behind Palmyra.

New Bloomfield placed seventh as a team with 129 points.

The top runner for Russellville was Audrey Klatt in seventh place with a time of 22:13.16. Placing 14th was Natalie Kirchner in 23:05.38, Paige Randolph was 27th in 23:59.75, Olivia Barnett placed 28th in 24:00.25 and Cameron Grayson was 39th in 24:30.91.

Mikaela Lemelin was eighth in 22:13.90 to pace New Bloomfield. Contributing to the team score were Abby Baxter in 18th (23:21.11), Jillian Pry in 20th (23:33.30), Asya Nichols in 63rd (27:54.41) and Makenna Coonce in 64th (28:17.63).

Calvary Lutheran's Maddie Homfeldt placed sixth in 21:47.76 to lead the Lady Lions. Baileigh Morris ran the course in 24:07.64 to place 32nd, Sydney Morris finished 54th in 26:28.37 and Madelyn Goodson was 65th in 28:48.07.
