SPRINGFIELD - Helias seniors Kylie Bernskoetter and Lainie Mantle concluded their seasons Friday in the Class 2 girls tennis doubles state tournament at the Cooper Tennis Complex, finishing in eighth place to earn all-state medals.
In the consolation semifinals, the Helias duo lost 2-6, 3-6 to Visitation Academy's Anne Wilkinson and Sejal Sekhar.
Bernskoetter and Mantle then played in the seventh-place match against Liberty: Wentzville's Isabella Gamm and Grace Flinn. Bernskoetter and Mantle won the first set 6-0, but Gamm and Flinn won the second set 6-3, forcing a tiebreaker to decide the match.
Gamm and Flinn won the tiebreaker 10-3 to finish seventh.
The seventh-place match was a rematch of the Class 2 District 4 doubles championship, which Gamm and Flinn also won that matchup 6-0, 6-4 on Oct. 3.
Bernskoetter and Mantle posted a 2-3 record in the two-day state tournament.
Visitation Academy's other doubles pairing, Sophia McLellan and Suzanna McLellan, won the Class 2 state title in a 6-4, 6-3 decision against Mikaela Mikulec and Rachel Li of MICDS.
