Five area high school volleyball players were recently named to the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association all-state team.
Helias sophomore outside hitter Chapel Dobbs was honored on the Class 5 all-state team.
Dobbs led the Lady Crusaders with 325 kills for a .316 hitting percentage, finishing with a season-high 21 kills in a five-set win against Eldon. Dobbs also had 62 digs and 52 total blocks.
Dobbs helped Helias to a Class 5 District 9 championship and a 27-6-2 record.
The remaining four area all-state volleyball players were recognized on the Class 3 all-state team.
Eldon had a pair of all-state honorees with junior outside hitter Caroline Beckmann and senior setter Addie Davis.
This is Beckmann's second straight season on the all-state team. She led the Lady Mustangs with 516 kills - tied for third in Missouri among all classes - while averaging 5.7 kills per set, recording 20 or more kills in 10 matches.
Beckmann also had a team-high 54 total blocks, was second on the Lady Mustangs with 263 digs and was third on the team with 49 service aces.
Davis finished the season with 860 assists, an average of 9.6 assists per set. Her 860 assists rank third among all Class 3 setters in the state, according to MaxPreps.
Beckmann and Davis led Eldon to a 24-6-1 record and the program's first district championship in more than 20 years.
California junior middle hitter Ella Lewis led the Lady Pintos with 313 kills. She was also second on the team with 41 total blocks.
Lewis helped California to a 24-7-1 record.
School of the Osage senior outside hitter Sara Wolf recorded a team-high 348 kills for the Lady Indians. She was also second on the team with 310 digs and 40 service aces.
Wolf helped the Lady Indians to a 17-13-1 record and a runner-up finish to Eldon in District 9.
